No. Portland Siding Pros is a quote-request service operated by H. Mae LLC. It passes your request to an independent siding contractor who works in your area, and that contractor inspects, quotes and does the work under their own Oregon Construction Contractors Board license.
Does it cost anything to request a siding quote?
No. Sending a request is free and does not commit you to anything. Any price for the work comes from the contractor, and you decide whether to accept it.
When does Portland require a permit or review for siding?
Usually not for the siding itself. Portland does not require a building permit to repair or replace siding that is not required to be fire-resistant. Two common exceptions: walls less than 3 feet from a property line are generally fire-rated, and houses in a City Historic or Conservation District need historic resource review to replace siding, even with the same material.
How do I know whether to repair or re-side?
Repair makes sense when the damage stays on one wall or a few boards, the sheathing behind is solid, and the siding is still made or can be matched. Replacement is worth pricing when the same failure shows up on several walls, the product is discontinued hardboard or T1-11, or the wall behind is soft in more than one place.
Which areas does Portland Siding Pros cover?
Houses on the Oregon side of the Portland metro: Portland and the Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas County cities around it, from Hillsboro and Forest Grove to Gresham, Troutdale and Oregon City. Vancouver and the rest of Clark County, Washington are not covered, because a Washington job needs a Washington-registered contractor.
How do I check a siding contractor's license in Oregon?
Search the contractor's name or license number on the Oregon Construction Contractors Board website (search.ccb.state.or.us). It shows whether the license is active, the bond and insurance on file, and any complaint history. On a house built before 1978, also ask whether they hold the CCB lead-based paint renovation license.
